Semiya Upma

Semiya upma is my favourite break-fast, as it could be done in minutes, and also taste's yummy. On the other hand, i also love to have Rava Upma, but the thing is i feel sleepy on eating it. so i shifted from rava to cracked wheat rava.

Here is my Recipe...

Ingredients

Semiya-2 cups
Ghee 1 spoon
Green chilli-1
Dry Red Chilli-2
Oil- 2 spoons
Onion-1 (finely chopped)
Mustard- 1 spoon
Urad Dal- 1 spoon
Curry leaves-8
Water- 1 and half cup
Salt for taste.

Method

arrow_42Fry the Semiya in a spoon of ghee for a minute or two,
till they get wrapped in ghee.keep them aside.

arrow_42In a kadai, heat 2 spoon's of oil. add the Mustard seeds, Urad dal, slitted green chilli, red chilli and Curry leaves.

arrow_42 Now add onions, salt and fry them well. when they are fried, add the semiya and mix well.

arrow_42Now add the water and let it boil. when it boils, add a spoon of ghee or oil and let the semiya cook.

arrow_42after cooking the semiya, close it with a lid and let it rest in the stove for 5 minutes.

Ooh! I love Semiya upma. I eat it with a little sugar instead of pickle/chutney, and it is out of this world. I know it is weird but tastes really good.
