Semiya upma is my favourite break-fast, as it could be done in minutes, and also taste's yummy. On the other hand, i also love to have Rava Upma, but the thing is i feel sleepy on eating it. so i shifted from rava to cracked wheat rava.
Here is my Recipe...
Ghee 1 spoon
Dry Red Chilli-2
Oil- 2 spoons
Onion-1 (finely chopped)
Mustard- 1 spoon
Urad Dal- 1 spoon
Water- 1 and half cup
Salt for taste.
Fry the Semiya in a spoon of ghee for a minute or two,
till they get wrapped in ghee.keep them aside.
In a kadai, heat 2 spoon's of oil. add the Mustard seeds, Urad dal, slitted green chilli, red chilli and Curry leaves.
Now add onions,salt and fry them well. when they are fried, add the semiya and mix well.
Now add the water and let it boil. when it boils, add a spoon of ghee or oil and let the semiya cook.
after cooking the semiya, close it with a lid and let it rest in the stove for 5 minutes.
You can add Carrot, beans, capsicum, peas to the upma.
